Frequently Asked Questions

(and check out my blogs too…)

I’ve never been hypnotized. Will it work on me?

Yes - everyone goes into the hypnotic state several times during the day and throughout the night. Hypnosis is a natural state that is dominated by specific brain waves states. Therefore, being hypnotized is about consciously using this natural state to help reprogram your subconscious mind. It is true that some people are more easily hypnotizable than others. However, for those who are more resistant to hypnosis, I use other research-backed technques and tools to help effect transformation in other ways.

How many sessions do you recommend?

Research has shown that approximately six weeks is the baseline time necessary for lasting transformation on the neurological, chemical and behavioral level. Because consistency is key in retraining the mind, and each session builds upon the previous session's framework, typically 4 sessions is generally necessary, spaced one to three weeks apart. More than three weeks between sessions is generally not recommended.

The length of time to achieve success varies by person. However, the average amount of sessions it usually takes for me to help my clients let go of issues is between 4-6 sessions. However, sometimes clients need fewer sessions. Sometimes there are clients who want to do additional sessions to work on other issues. This is welcomed.

My goal working with you is to help you discover your own inner-resources and share powerful tools to overcome the mental or emotional challenges that are holding you back.

I use a variety of evidence-based techniques, including hypnosis, RTT, HeartMath and NLP to help you let go of self-sabotage, limiting beliefs/behaviors, physical discomforts, anxiety/depressions, and fears to be happier, courageous, and more mindful in typically just 4 sessions. Ideally I recommend these sessions are two weeks apart.

The only thing required is your deep personal commitment to allowing self-transformation to happen. In return, I will give you my full, 100% commitment to giving you a customized program to inspire change too.

I customize each session specifically to your needs & desires. All of my techniques are delivered very methodically, and each session builds upon the work from the previous session. No two sessions will ever be exactly alike.

Session 1: We will identify your core limiting beliefs that are holding you back from being the best version of yourself. We will utilize both conscious and unconscious processes for deep level change. The first session builds the framework for your subsequent sessions and you will be given daily exercises to complete prior to your next session. 90 minutes.

Session 2: Measuring your progress from the previous session, we will begin building unconscious strategies to begin creating success on auto-pilot. 75 minutes each session after the first.

Sessions 3 and 4: Again, measuring your progress from the previous sessions, we will continue building unconscious strategies, getting your mind to discover how to create significant change at a deep level. Conscious coaching may be implemented to shift negative mindsets for a holistic approach to change, for both the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind. We will tie in all of the work from the beginning, and deepen the reprogramming of your mind, to lock in your transformation at the core level. We will measure your progress through an online stress and well-being assessment and if you feel you have all the tools you need to continue your progress on your own, then off you go into your new life! Most clients feel a dramatic shift in their lives at this point; however, if we decide you're not quite where you want to be yet, then we will continue our work for another session or two.

How is Hypnotherapy different from Traditional Therapy?

I use a powerful and unique combination of Hypnosis, Rapid Transformation Therapy (RTT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy™, HeartMath techniques, Hypnosis, and other methods to create a complete level of change at both the conscious and unconscious levels. With all methods combined, you will gain the clarity and motivation you need in your life to be free of negative behaviors and thought patterns, while gaining focus and strategies to reach your goals effectively.

Similarities between therapists and hypnotists:

  • Both client and coach enter relationship with a goal to produce positive changes.

  • Both professions are based on an ongoing, confidential, one-to-one relationship between client and professional.

  • Both professions assume that significant change will occur over time.

Differences between therapists and hypnotists:

I work with those who are:

  • Highly motivated to change (even if it comes from hopelessness or desperation)

  • Eager to move to a higher level of thinking and functioning in the world

  • Seeking focus, strategy, and motivation

  • Asking "HOW" questions

  • Wanting more out of life

  • Designing their future

  • Learning new skills

  • Ready to take charge in their lives with massive and inspired action

  • Ready to take responsibility over their behaviors and mindsets

  • Seeking more balance in life

  • Ready to focus on what is going right in their lives

Therapists work with those:

  • Seeking self-understanding

  • Asking "WHY" questions

  • Who are struggling with severe, quantifiable psychological challenges

I have worked with many clients who are simultaneously working with therapists, doctors or other health care professionals in order to get the best personalized care for that person. I insist that anyone working with me inform the other professionals involved that they are working with me.

There are very few instances where I will not take on a client. These are:

  • Clients who show very little commitment and do not complete their assignments

  • Severe Depression

  • Smokers who do not really want to quit

  • Those who have been forced to attend sessions with her by a spouse or parent, who don't really want to change

  • Severe alcoholics and addicts

What does it cost?

It is important to consider how much you value letting go of your issue to live with more freedom from limitations. Unlike traditional ongoing therapy that can cost thousands of dollars and take months or years, you will gain the tools and strategies you need to achieve your goals in just several sessions. On the “1:1 Sessions” tab under “Work With Me” the prices are listed with the sessions.

The price of the online courses and in-person workshops are included with the descriptions.

Do you take insurance?

Insurance coverage varies and while I do not accept insurance, you may be able to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, depending on your coverage.

What is your cancellation policy?

A valid credit card is required to hold your reservation. Because your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, a fee of the full rate of the session will be charged for cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice. The 15-minute consultations will be charged $35 for no-shows (see full policy here). This ensures your commitment, as well as compensates for my time.
