What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of being in complete comfort and relaxation. It can best be described as "concentrated attention" and characterized by an awake-sleep state (also known as the alpha- or theta-dominant brain wave state). Hypnosis is usually experienced in trance, where a high level of change can be experienced at an unconscious level.

Just as you go to sleep and just as you wake up, you are naturally in the alpha and theta brain wave state. You are also in this state when you are watching TV or a movie, especially if you lose track of time or your surroundings. When you are doing something you love and you lose track of time, you are also in the alpha state. In fact, you enter the hypnotic state more often than you think. So why not use it constructively to design the life you want?

Whether you are working with Krista in a private session, or using one of her online courses, you are always in complete control of your conscious state, just as you would be during meditation, or being in a state of high concentration. For example, have you ever been so engaged in an activity, such as being glued to a movie, enthralled in a book, or super focused in a sport or project, that you don't notice anything else around you? Hypnosis is no different. As you are guided to deepen your awareness of your unconscious mind, you will begin to lose involvement in your external surroundings. However, just as you can break your focus from any activity, you can also come out of hypnosis at any time you desire. Therefore, you are always in control of being in trance.  

The primary state of consciousness that is most referred to in hypnosis/hypnotherapy is the alpha state.  This is the state of mind where one is half-asleep, half-awake, and is in a state of relaxation or meditation. Once you allow yourself to enter an alpha state, your inner-talk will begin to slow down and you will begin to become more image-oriented, thus being guided to make positive changes in your life. 

In hypnosis, some may also experience the theta state, going into a very deep relaxation. Many people meditate for hours to get to this state of deep calmness in the mind. Many consider that being in the gamma state (higher brain activity in the consciousness revolved around perception) or theta state is a favorable state to produce instant healing.

Clients often have concerns that they may not be able to be hypnotized or wonder if it is safe. It's completely "normal" to have concerns and be skeptical at first, especially because of how hypnosis has been portrayed in movies and TV. Clients have often also tried various methods to produce behavioral change but have not gotten the results they wanted. However, since this is a natural state and a relaxing one, where the client is in control, they most often find that once they allow themselves to tap into their ability to enter this unique state of consciousness, they open the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration, and positive change.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Explained

NLP is the study of successful behavior. It incorporates methods of retraining the mind in order to produce consistent, desired behavioral results in your life. "Neuro" defines the mind, "linguistic" refers to language, and "programming" means retraining. Hence, NLP is retraining the mind to communicate the most effective language towards ourselves and others. How Many Sessions Do You Recommend?

My goal working with you is to help you discover your own inner-resources and share powerful tools to overcome the mental or emotional challenges that are holding you back. 

I use a variety of evidence-based techniques, including hypnosis and NLP to help you let go of self-sabotage, limiting beliefs/behaviors, physical discomforts, anxiety/depressions, and fears to be happier, courageous, and more mindful in just 6 sessions. 

So what's the catch? Your 100% commitment to step up your life and live the life you desire. Without your full desire to make changes in your life, you will not achieve the your full results.  

Despite my wish to be a magician, I am (sadly) not. I cannot just make your issues disappear in a poof, but I can help you access your subconscious and create deep-level change.

The only thing required is your deep personal commitment to allowing self-transformation to happen. In return, I will give you my full, 100% commitment to giving you a customized program to inspire change too.

I customize each session specifically to your needs & desires. All of my techniques are delivered very methodically, and each session builds upon the work from the previous session. No two sessions will ever be exactly alike.

Session 1: Should we both decide to work with each other, then we will identify your core limiting beliefs that are holding you back from being the best version of yourself. We will utilize both conscious and unconscious processes for deep level change. The first session builds the framework for your subsequent sessions and you will be given weekly exercises to complete prior to your next session. 90 minutes.

Session 2: Measuring your progress from the previous session, we will begin building unconscious strategies to begin creating success on auto-pilot. 60 minutes each session after the first.

Sessions 3, 4 and 5: Again, measuring your progress from the previous sessions, we will continue building unconscious strategies, getting your mind to discover how to create significant change at a deep level. Conscious coaching may be implemented to shift negative mindsets for a holistic approach to change, for both the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind.

Session 6: The best session! Here we will tie in all of the work from the beginning, and deepen the reprogramming of your mind, to lock in your transformation at the core level. We will measure your progress and if you feel you have all the tools you need to continue your progress on your own, then off you go into your new life! Most clients feel a dramatic shift in their lives at this point; however, if we decide you're not quite where you want to be yet, then we will continue our work for another session or two.

Hypnosis Versus Traditional Therapy

Krista uses a a powerful and unique combination of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy™, HeartMath techniques, hypnosis, and other methods to create a complete level of change at both the conscious and unconscious levels. With all methods combined, you will gain the clarity and motivation you need in your life to be free of negative behaviors and thought patterns, while gaining focus and strategies to reach your goals effectively.

Krista has worked with many clients who are simultaneously working with therapists, doctors or other health care professionals in order to get the best personalized care for that person. She insists that anyone working with her inform the other professionals involved that they are working with Krista.

There are very few instances where Krista will not take on a client. These are:

  • Clients who show very little commitment and do not complete their assignments

  • Severe depression

  • Smokers who do not really want to quit

  • Those who have been forced to attend sessions with her by a spouse or parent, who don't really want to change

  • Severe alcoholics and addicts

What is Trance and What if I Don't Come Out of It?

Trance is the state in which you allow yourself to enter during hypnosis. It is a state of being half-conscious and in complete relaxation. It is a natural state that you enter multiple times every day without effort. It can also be described as being in an alpha state, an awake-sleep state.

You have ultimate control in choosing whether to be in trance or not. Once you choose to use hypnosis to improve your behavior, or be rid of an issue, you will find deep, lasting change.

It is impossible to be "stuck" in trance. Again, you are totally in control of your session and your state. Once you come out of hypnosis, you will simply feel refreshed and awake, having experienced a great sense of achievement.

Will I Lose Control? Do I Have to Reveal Private Issues?

Whether you are working with Krista one-on-one, in a class or going through an online course, you are always in control. It is not possible for anyone to be forced into trance. Hypnosis simply allows you to become fully relaxed and comfortable, which makes you acutely aware of your surroundings and what you are doing. You have complete control to come out of of trance at any time, whenever you wish.

Additionally, Krista does not try to control your thinking, but instead empowers you to discover your own inner resources, and supports you in taking responsibility for your own thinking and behavior. Therefore, change is initiated and followed through on by you.

The great thing about most all of the techniques Krista uses is that they can be completely content-free. You are at total liberty to reveal as much or as little about your issues as you'd like. Your privacy is respected and Krista will never ask you to discuss something you don't feel comfortable talking about. It is still very possible to have an effective session through the various processes that she uses. However, providing some content allows her to help you further.

Working with Teens and Kids

One of Krista’s primary passions is to work with more kids and teens, especially as anxiety and stress levels have risen dramatically over the last decade. Krista has had some great results working with youth. The key is that the child/teen is willing to explore new ways to feel better about his/her life, and is not forced to attend. In addition to the in-session techniques, Krista teaches the child/teen age-appropriate tools to use on an ongoing basis to help them navigate an increasingly complex and demanding world.

Issues Krista works with children/teens are:
